Information for commuting students
We appreciate that living at university doesn’t suit everyone for various reasons. Each year, we note that approximately a quarter of our student body commute to campus to engage in learning and socialising. We’re huge advocates for students getting the most out of their time at university, and those who commute in are no different. If you’d like to engage – you can!
For those exploring ways to get in, you can find information on public transport, parking, and incentives to help save costs and the environment through our transport webpage. Our incentives include a free park and ride service and a Liftshare database, which you can find out more about through this page. You’re welcome to try out our free travel planner tool, that provides direct insight into ways to get in.
For those who choose to study at UEA, we provide welcome activities to help with the settling in and adjustment period. This continues throughout the year with a dedicated Transport team available to help with any questions or organising permits for those with disabilities or have caring responsibilities. We also host a monthly commuters’ breakfast so our current students can meet other commuters, feedback to staff about their experiences and get a voucher for a free breakfast or lunch. You can hear from Kevin, one of our current commuting students in the video below to find out more.
