Science

What's this about?

Are you a curious person?

If you like solving problems, carrying out investigations and enjoy Sciences at GCSE or A level you could think about a career in a science subject.

For example apprenticeships in science are available working in laboratories analysing samples for the NHS or water quality for the Environment Agency.

If you chose to go to university you could study a new science subject such as marine biology, archaeology or astronomy. If you have an interest in a specific part of your degree you could carry out your own research by undertaking a qualification called a PhD. This usually takes three years and usually requires a lot of patience carrying out experiments.

Scientific research can have a huge impact on our lives such as finding a new universe, new ways of idenifying disease or new drugs to cure illnesses.
