What's this about?

There are over 350 different jobs within the NHS - so there really is something for everyone.

There are scientific jobs related to the diagnosis of illnesses and injuries.

For example, Radiographers undertake X- rays and scans, scientists analyse cells and samples under a microscope, and doctors discuss the results with the patient.

If a patient requires treatment there maybe an anaesthetist, operating department practitioner, surgeon, pharmacist and specialist nurses involved. There are also many professionals who help people with recovery or managing long term health conditions such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and dieticians.

These people are all supported by a whole team of people such as ambulance technicians, health care assistants and porters.
