Access to Higher Education Diploma courses
The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a well-established route into degree-level study for those who don’t have the traditional entry requirements.
Access to Higher Education Diploma courses – sometimes simply known as ‘Access courses’ – are designed for people who would like to study a higher education course (normally a degree) but who may have missed out on earlier educational opportunities and have few or no formal qualifications.
Most Access courses can be completed in one academic year, but some can be taken in the evenings or by distance learning so you can fit work or other commitments around your study. They are available in a wide range of subjects and also develop your study skills. Access courses are mainly offered at further education colleges.
