How to revise

Write it down!

Notes on notes on notes!

Your brain has three kinds of memory cells – sound, sight and feeling. The best way to remember things is to use all of these cells at the same time. Writing things down means that you do this – you see the words, you say them in your mind as you write them down, you use your hand to write the words.

A tried and tested method to remember information is just to copy out your notes, again and again and again. This might sound boring (and it is), but it will make sure that you actually remember what you are writing.

An even better way to do this is to take your full notes and then paraphrase them into the main important points. You can repeat this again and again, until you have just a series of short sentences covering a whole topic. These are then easier to learn and you will hopefully have embedded all the information in your brain by re-writing it over and over. To find out more about ways to revise go to: Revision sheets.
